Die Welt der Crypto Stamps reicht von Afrika bis Asien

The world of Crypto Stamps extends from Africa to Asia Ever since the first edition six years ago, Crypto Stamps can be found all over the world

Gibraltar began the Crypto Stamp phenomenon in 2018 with a precursor version based on QR codes and the link to cryptocurrency. Since 2019, the stamps have been linked to a digital image in the form of an NFT.

A peek at the world catalogue crypto-stamps.orgTarget not accessible demonstrates how popular stamps with a digital image are today. The project, supervised by Frenchman Luc Mangin, lists all known projects and presents upcoming editions in a calendar.

A foray into the world of crypto

Crypto Stamps have already been launched all over the world, for instance in Botswana. In 2022, stamps were issued by BotswanaPost that provide an insight into the history and culture of the country, and they give digital stamp collectors the chance to win a holiday. In Japan, an animal series was up for grabs. The Marshall Islands showed silver, holographic images of the country’s beaches.

The Faroe Islands project last year was particularly exciting: each stamp is linked to an oracle about a certain weather condition. Anyone opening the stamp is able to automatically determine its rarity based on the current weather. This means that with these Crypto Stamps, the digital stamp is made even rarer and more personalized.

According to the world catalogue, the hub for Crypto Stamp countries is in Europe. You can find the majority of entries here. 2019 saw the launch of the world’s first Crypto Stamp with an NFT image in Austria, which was shortly followed by Swiss Post launching its own first series.
